A Gift For You

My gift to you is a message. May you have the confidence that speaks for itself in every space you enter. May your relationship with 2026 be about balance. May you show up for yourself like you show up for others. May you be selfish with self-care. May you accept that rest is productive. May you be loved. May you BE love.

Every Time

Every time I write a poem it’s therapy

Every book I write about Black women is deep

Every time I recite Ego Tripping there’s always a reason why

Every time I create I’ve already cried

Every time I take a break I’m selfish with self-care

And when you’re late or don’t show up - I’m already there

Every time I tell you no it’s because I’ve learned a lesson

Sometimes joy is the answer and the question

When I look back at what has made me me

My magic been bouncing back automatically

Every time I vibrate low I put myself in check

Vibration sky high and all my needs I met

Every time I second guess I remember who I am

Hemoglobin tied to the women who came before me – understand

Every time I think an opportunity has passed me by

God and the universe collaborate on my behalf

Always and every time
